Joey Donaldson
Founder & CEO
Founder of F.I.R.E. on October 19th, 2009 in Detroit,MI. Seeing a decline in the appreciation and education of the Performing Arts in our public school system, Joey conceived the idea and FIRE was born. FIRE is an avenue to help with the preservation and cultivation of the Arts in a city that has a rich history. From the resilient streets of Southeast Detroit born to a single mother of 6 we thank and appreciate Joey Donaldson for helping pave the way for the new generation of Detroit miusicians

Tyrus Walker Sr.
Director of Bands
Mr. Walker Sr. is the Head Band Director of the Motor City Heat Marching Band. Currently he is the Chief Arranger, Asst. Band Director, and Head of the Low Brass studio at Wilberforce University. He served as the euphonium section leader and chief student arranger at Norfolk State University from 2008-2011. From 2017-2022 he became an Asst. Director of the Oak Park HS Marching Band. He was responsible for OPSD's music from grades K-12. He is a significant part of helping rebuild music programs across Detroit and surrounding areas.Mr. Walker's music has been played nationwide by various middle school, high school, and a variety of collegiate programs. We thank and appreciate Mr. Walker for his time and leadership in the city.

David Brown Jr.
Assistant Band Director
David Brown Jr. is the current Head Band Director at University HS Academy. He was also the Director at Osborn HS and also an Asst. Director at Oak Park HS and the DPS All-City Marching Band. Mr. Brown has been a prominent musician in the city for over 32 years and continues to give back to the youth through his knowledge in music. We thank and appreciate Mr. Brown for his hardwork and dedication to the Motor City Heat Marching Band.

Lord'Amani Cooper
Assistant Band Director
Mr. Cooper, a 25-year-old young man from the small town of River Rouge, MI is one of the Asst. Directors in Motor City Heat. He graduated from River Rouge HS and later attended Kentucky State University where he graduated in 2020 where he received his Bachelor's degree in Music. He is a prominent member of Kappa Kappa Psi, Alpha Phi Alpha, & Gamma Psi Nu. He is a firm believer that music is truy the greatest form of all Arts. Currently Mr. Cooper holds the Director of Bands position at Ecorse High School. He is in his 3rd year in the Ecorse HS school district going into his 4th. Since Mr. Cooper has taken over Ecorse HS Marching Band, the band has made amazing changes and he has also sent off alot of students to a variety of colleges. He loves teaching and impacting the youth through the gift of music, ensuring that they become the best version of themselves. We thank and appreciation Mr. Cooper for his dedication and hardwork in Michigan
